Our annual tradition of supporting Rotherham Councils, Children and Young People Services continued this year as staff filled trolleys at The Range store, Parkgate, with toys, arts, crafts, toiletries and chocolate to be distributed throughout the borough to children and families. They also filled baskets with pyjamas, socks and snoodies from Primark for many of the teenagers and older children to enjoy over the festive season and new year.
Our Intermodal Manager, Luke Williams said “We enjoy shopping for the children, we could donate the money but it is important for us that the gifts are thought about, we want all ages to receive good quality presents and for them to include educational options as well as fun toys and sweets as most children would”.
Stephen Newell our Operations Director said “ We know the cost of living puts a lot of pressure on people all year, in particular at Christmas so if we can help take the pressure off and help more children enjoy the festive season then we are glad to help, we take our social responsibility very seriously and want to support our local community.
Rotherham Council’s Cabinet Member for Children and Young People, Councillor Victoria Cusworth said: “Christmas can feel very different for children and young people who have experienced difficult times, but with this generous gift we are able to help bring the magic of Christmas back as many children will receive a present to unwrap on Christmas morning. I’d like to extend a huge thanks to the team at Newell and Wright for their donation, it is really appreciated.”
